Volunteers wanted this Spring Break!
Spring break is approaching and that means it is time for the Spring Orchestra Seminario here at the Corona Youth Music Project! We now have three levels of orchestra — Little Mozarts, Vivaldis, and Coplands — and they need your help! Each week, local children have the opportunity to attend multiple music rehearsals free of charge and are provided with instruments. In order to keep serving the children of Corona and to keep this program running strong, we need you to help teach our children.
The Spring Orchestra Seminario will be held April 9-13 from 9:15 - 4:30 at PS 19 on Roosevelt Avenue and 99th Street. Perhaps, you can only come for an hour or two, maybe for the whole day, or even at various times throughout the week; whatever it is, we welcome you with open arms! Your participation is necessary to help shape the lives of these budding musicians. Here at the Corona Youth Music Project, we aspire to provide quality music education free of charge to children who otherwise might not have access to it. We are committed to the cultivation of community development and social change through music and strive to do so in an encouraging, joyful environment. You, too, can be a part of this movement. Please click here and sign up using your first and last name and phone number for any time or times that are convenient for you. You are welcome to sign in even if another volunteer is already coming at that time — the more the merrier! Take care not to accidentally delete anybody else’s name. Perhaps you don’t have time to attend, but are still willing to donate in other ways? We are accepting donations great or small. Do you have an instrument that is no longer being played? We have children to make it sing again!
